KSB completes enlargement of GIW’s Grovetown facility

KSB has introduced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase enlargement of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

The first two phases of the enlargement have been approved in 2013 in response to growing market demand for bigger tools. Since then, the Grovetown facility has completed upgrades, added tens of hundreds of sq. ft to its foundry, elevated furnace capability, accomplished construction on a distribution centre, and won approval for three additional phases of improvement.
With the completion of the challenge, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mold castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), elevated its most pouring output by as much as 66,000 lbs (30,000 kg), lowered the number of required shot blast runs by 50%, added special cleaning stations for giant castings, applied new expertise and effectivity solutions, and doubled employee locker room amenities.
KSB went forward with the project’s completion, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.

In 2020, the KSB Group launched KSB Mining, a new market-driven organization offering experience on centrifugal pumps to mining operations.

GIW at present employs over 600 folks at its Grovetown facility.
